I need some help! My hair is a couple of inches past my shoulders..I've been using aussie moist shampoo and conditioner..I'm also using loreal's vive shampoo and conditioner. My problem is the knots..I can't get rid of them...I'm using alot of conditioner just to get them out and I'm brushing my hair to no end. I don't want to get my hair cut so does anyone know of any product I could use?

Date: 12/13/2002 5:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 36766    spray a leave-in conditioner on ur hair and then brush it out...always seems to work for me
Date: 12/13/2002 5:21:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 18516    I'll have to look the next time I'm at the store..we don't have much of a choice here..they don't have alot to choose from.
Date: 12/13/2002 5:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 14780    a leave in conditioner works good for me too...my hair is past my shoulders...Its the longest its been in years..lol...
Date: 12/13/2002 5:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 18516    Thanxs Katsho..I'll have to look for one.
Date: 12/13/2002 5:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    My bride's hair was down to her butt until I finally let her cut some of it off recently. It's really thick and she was having a hard time brushing it. I don't know what to tell you because yours really isn't that long. Do you have split ends? That was her complaint. Now she has no problems with it. I wish you well.
Date: 12/13/2002 5:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 22433    yeah, leave in conditioner works WONDERS for me. I recommend Pantene Pro-V leave in spray conditioner
Date: 12/13/2002 5:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 46069    a leave in conditioner is the best.. but having it trimmed would be the best thing for it.. even just the tips... 1/4 to 1/2 an inch will help alot and make it look healthier... and the only place that needs the leave in condtionner is the ends.. unless your hair is coloured... then the damage is higher and condtionner is needed there
Date: 12/13/2002 8:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 49150    My hair is past my waist and very fine, like little kids hair. I use regular condition, loreal nutri vive, then I use a spray in conditioner, then I spray a detangler. That seems to do the trick.
Date: 12/13/2002 9:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 51070    Mine's almost down to my waist. I use Suave shampoo and that seems to work pretty good. Smells nice, too. : )
Date: 12/13/2002 9:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 26452    Mine is about an inch from the base of my back. Detangling leave in conditioner works good. And a soft brush helps mine, sometimes when I dont use the conditioner I have to get my mom to help me brush the ends.
Date: 12/13/2002 10:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 8941    Switch to Pantene shampoo and conditioner...I'm using the voluminzing one right now...my hair is about mid-back and naturally curly...I get knots easily and bad...lol. It still amazes me how soft it is now, and how easily the knots comb out. Also, sometimes after I get out and dry my hair, I'll put a quarter size amount of Herbal Essences leave in conditioner in my hair...mostly the ends.
Date: 12/14/2002 7:32:00 AM  ( Admin-DNL )   I agree with Spit fire,Pantene is great!
Date: 12/14/2002 7:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 28946    I also use a detangling comb and take alot of time working the knots out. It's also how you shampoo your hair as you have to be careful not to wad it up when shampooing. It can be so time consuming.
Date: 12/18/2002 12:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 12133    My hair is past my shoulder blades, and I very seldom have a tangle problem
Date: 12/21/2002 12:28:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 18516    Unfortunately I went to the store and could not find ANY spray leave-in conditioners..the only thing they did have was Loreal kids detangler so I'm using that for now. I plan on going to a hair salon soon so I'll see what they recommend. I think part of the problem is there is to much iron in the water here and it can damage your hair.
Date: 12/21/2002 5:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 28946    Lemon, do you start at the bottom of your hair when you detangle it with a comb? I slowly work the knots out that way and we have very hard water. I seldom use conditioner and strip my hair often. Best of luck to you.
Date: 1/20/2003 12:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 44321    I get knots and what I use is one of the big combs that has the wide spaces between the teeth,I got mine at a beauty supply store.
Date: 4/23/2004 1:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 49763    You hair's not that long mine is to my waist when brushed out but it doesn't tangle so sorry I can't help. ~~
Date: 4/23/2004 1:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 42568    A deep conditioner or a detangler......you probably have the problem solved by now though, lol
Date: 3/6/2007 11:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 17156    Hey sis you know how bad Fiona's hair gets. I use Aussie 3 minute miracle. As soon as she gets out of the tub I can comb straight through her hair with little to no tangles what so ever. Give it a try mom and I also use it! Love ya!
