Hi, Kelly. Well, my son did the same thing with crayons and ink. I couldn't get the ink off the walls. Usually, when you move out....they have to repaint anyway before renting out again. You might want to give them a call and ask them about it....before you make yourself crazy and spend lots of time trying to fix the walls....only to find out later that they were going to hold back some of your deposit anyway. I did do some searching to try to find how to remove nail polish from walls.....couldn't find anything. Sorry. I can sure sympathize with you though. ![]() |

Lady NYX, we live in Military housing and have already had a housing inspector walk through, he told us it HAS to come off or we'll be charged $60.00 per wall (It's on 3 walls). WAAAAAAA!!! The ink, permanant marker, pencil and crayon came off with no problem. It's just that darn nail polish that has me stumped! I might try to scrape lightly with a putty knife, maybe I can chip it off. ![]() |

Hmm.. I dunno what to do about nail polish.. I've heard to remove stubborn pencil and/or crayon marks from the wall, dab a little WD-40 on a rag and rub vigorously and it's supposed to do the trick. Let me do a litle research and see what I can come up with then I'll be back. Much love, many hugs and kisses, and the best of luck, hopes, and wishes to you and to ALL! -KQ a.k.a. ![]() |

I have a book here somewhere by "The Queen of Clean"....lots of great tips....but I can't find the darn book. LOL. Shows you how much I use it. $60.00 a wall is outrageous! It would be cheaper just to paint over the dang walls yourself! LOL. I'll keep trying to find that book and see if it says anything. ![]() |

Geez....found the book...but it doesn't offer any other suggestions that what you already know about. The only other thing that it does say is that you can call a janitorial supply company and ask if they have anything that would help. ![]() |

Okay Kelly, I couldn't find anything on your specific problem but the closest I could find was something on Removing Nail Polish from Wood Floors: Do not apply nail polish remover to the stain; it will quickly damage finish. Instead, soften the nail polish by rubbing it with a cloth saturated in mineral spirits. CAUTION: Dry-cleaning spot remover and mineral spirits are poisonous and flammable. Follow caution on labels. Use in well-ventilated area. Do not use near flame, spark, or pilot light. Do not smoke. Do not get on skin or clothing. If the finish is hard, apply paste wax with fine 0000 steel wool in the direction of the grain. Apply a small amount of oil to an oil finish. -- This may be just what you need to try with the walls since the lacquer finish for wood floors would be essentially the same results as any other painted surface. Just be careful when you try this as it says the fumes can be quite dangerous. I found a few things on removing it from upholstry and clothing but those seem to be what you've already tried and since you don't want to ruin the walls, this was the closest solution I could find for you short of re-painting the walls yourself so they won't charge you that outrageous price. I'll keep looking around though and if I find anything further out, I'll be back to let you know. Much love, many hugs and kisses, and the best of luck, hopes, and wishes to you and to ALL! -KQ a.k.a. ![]() |

Wow, Thank you Lady Nyx and KQ..It was really nice of you to go to the trouble of looking for me! I tried the WD-40, and it worked fairly well, I actually got some of it to come off with some very hard scrubbing, it took some of the paint to, but at least it is coming off. I'm going to give the mineral spirits a try and see if it softens the polish enough to come off without taking the paint along with it. I really appreciate all your help..Thanks.... ![]() |
