A young student of life
once set out to learn
that the goals which we seek
we don't take, but we earn.
When told of horizons,
to his misperception
he fell briefly into
a time of deception.
Some days went so slow
that he felt like he crept
and would dream of his goal
every night while he slept.
For most of his life,
he would gallantly try
to reach the great place
where the Earth meets the sky.
But he wasn't aware
by the way they would teach
that he was in search
of a figure of speech.
After traveling so long,
it would all become clear
that his so-called objective
will never be near.
The tedious journey
then reached the conclusion
that distant horizons
are only illusion.
The truth came to light
as he stood all alone
that horizons aren't distant,
you stand on your own!
