Date: 10/13/2002 8:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 49498    of course it still exists, its something that will never die. Unless people become extremely accepting or all the same, it will continue to live
Date: 10/13/2002 8:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 50435    Oh, it's there. And if it ever disappears, a lot of people are going to have to start taking on their own responsibilities instead of taking something for nothing...
Date: 10/13/2002 8:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    Well the KKK and other racial hating groups are still around aren't they?
Date: 10/13/2002 8:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    Of course it still exists. It's always been here and it always will be. It just takes different forms of expression. Thank god it doesn't include killing as it used to, now...People have always been feirce toward other races, to protect the mixing with their own.
Date: 10/13/2002 9:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 9130    obviously it still exists-- but I think a lot of people use racism as an excuse when things don't go their way...
Date: 10/13/2002 9:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 52866    It will always exist
Date: 10/13/2002 9:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 26452    I think MetalliMan said it perfectly. Of course it still exists and I doubt it will ever die.. But yes, unfortunately some people do use it as an excuse.
Date: 10/13/2002 9:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    You bet it does! I just had a patient tell me her life story and all the times she said, "and of course, you know how THOSE PEOPLE are", doesn't matter Which people she was referring to, I hear it very often. Sometimes it is so downright ignorant I just walk out and have someone else take my place. There is always a LIMIT to how much we have to put up with when we work with the public. I probably don't share the attitudes and thinking of many, maybe they are right and I'm wrong, (I doubt it when it comes to statements that start with "those people", but bottom line is I'm paid to assist and care for people, listen to their aches and pains, but rants and complete imbeciles who judge people by skin color or culture or faith disgust me. I may listen but don't expect me to agree and when I reach a point of where I know my job may be getting close to being on the line, I walk out. I won't sacrifice my career for the rants of an imbecile.
Date: 10/13/2002 10:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 8278    yes. it definitly still exists. but i also think alot of people do use it to get their way. unfortunatly,i think racism will always be around. their are always going to be people who don't like other people just because of what they look like. it is sad, but true. i think life would be so much more peaceful if people could just see what is inside. :)
Date: 10/13/2002 11:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 61860    I really hate to say it, but as long as there are people whose skin is a different color, there WILL be racism. I personally am not a racist.
Date: 10/13/2002 11:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    yes it still exists!! are people still judging people by looks, gender and race?? people will always be judging
Date: 10/13/2002 11:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 14226    I don't understand how someone can use racism as an excuse? please explain? luv,
Date: 10/14/2002 2:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 46527    When a child in my classroom stands up and shouts 'nigger' at a boy who was only last week his friend (but has now annoyed him) there can be no question whether or not it exists! I somehow doubt that child will EVER say that word again though!
Date: 10/14/2002 4:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 23886    Its kinda something that would never go away...It still exists...but the fact that they use racism as an eccuse is ANNOYING...I guess it does still exist...
Date: 10/14/2002 4:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 23886    excuse*
Date: 10/14/2002 8:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 48809    Yes, it does still exist .......on BOTH sides!
Date: 10/14/2002 9:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 15279    ** I truly believe it still exists...like for example..if you see a mixed couple out at the mall...look at how many people stare. That is just one. Look at what happened to that guy here in milwaukee...beaten to death and not by racsim, but the result of that beating caused talks of racism by the media and so fourth. It will exist until parents and others alike can teach kids that life isn't about color, it's about attitude. That sucess in life isn't about color, it's about effort. It's sad, but until we can learn to live as one..it won't change. I am not racist, I am no different than anyone else. The only thing that separates us from eachother is attitude, and effort.

Date: 10/15/2002 11:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 27161    Racism exists in many forms more than just waht we see on tv such as the KKK and the neo nazis etc, it is also used in religious prosecution as one very well can see even though its gone beyond ones skin color or race its now gone to religon and belifs as well, much is why Rev. Anton LaVey created the "chruch of satan" to show that racism has clouded the minds of many becasue they feel it to be the will of "god" to presecute and weed out those who dont belive in the tradional form. Much is why being a satanist I have been able to see more of what was shunned as evil such philopshies that are greatly misunderstood such as Hinduism, buddhism, wicca, etc. Also many of these racist things are also going on in the form of the americn government even though we dont know it for example, the government since over 120 years has still not given back the black hills area to the ogla souix nation and also have not apolized for the brtutal massacre of their people at wounded knee, and also keep thier family such as one of my personal heros Leonard Peltier, they have kept him in jail for over 26 years for a crime that he didnt do and was merly enforcing his protection on his people, yet whats odd is that any other person wheather they be african american etc whatever, would have already been given another trial yet due to the fear of other truthhs that must be said they keep many native americans that didnt commit any crimes in jail. This is a clear case of racism in the sense of how one majority thikns of the other.
