As many of you know Tomorrow is a holiday in Canada(thanksgiving) and by that most grocery stores will be closed on the stat monday... Is it just me or do people look at the 1 day closing as a threat to thier food supplies?? If anyone here has been in a grocery store the day before a holiday knows what i mean... it seems half the town is lined up to buy groceries!! they only will be closed for 1 day!! 1 DAY! yet people are stocking up enough for weeks!! i went down today to pick up some potatoes and the line up was wrapping around through the isles!!! i ask you are stat holidays such a threat to our eating habits that we need to stock up??

Date: 10/13/2002 2:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 46527    LOL, it's the same here in the UK at holiday time, you'd think people were going to be locked in their houses with no means of getting food for a month or more!

Date: 10/13/2002 3:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53052    it's just insane!! i can understand when there is a huge storm comming... but a 1 day closure of a grocery store??(what is usually a monday.. one of the deadest days in a grocery store anyways)
Date: 10/13/2002 3:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 57471    I think that is a little crazy and that stores for once should just shut thier doors one day out of the whole week and not tell anybody about it and see what happens and people will relazie that they can live. do you also notice how like if it is supposed to rain that old people who only leave on sundays for church will weave down the street to stock up on grocerys for ayear it is pathetic!-Jennifer Anna
Date: 10/13/2002 3:28:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   LOL I wonder about this to...people can be crazy!
Date: 10/13/2002 4:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 5940    Hee Hee, that's why I make tracks to a convience store, there usually open on holidays. Spam and Macaroni will tide me over. Unless of course I ma invited to a friends house for dinner. :)
Date: 10/13/2002 10:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 26452    LOL Yeah, I've noticed that. I dunno who though, lol people are weird:P
Date: 10/13/2002 10:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 59876    in my case it is usually a last minute trip to the store because i had forgotten something crucial for our celebration dinner and 15 people will be at the front door soon.
