She glanced at her friend across the room. Jacquelyn was typing away on her computer. Melissa smiled to herself. She was really lucky to have a friend like Jacquelyn. They had known each other since they were three. They grew up together and know each others deepest secrets. So much alike on the inside, but yet so very different on the outside. Melissa had perfectly straight strawberry blonde hair with just the right amount of highlights which accentuated her sky blue eyes. Her perfectly tanned skin made her highlights stand out even more. She was tall and lean. Wearing the “In” styles of clothing, some called her preppy. Jacquelyn was also tall and lean, but she had blackish blue hair that was cut short with little jagged edges. But it worked for her. Her eyes were the deepest darkest brown that left you wanting to solve the mystery hidden behind them. Jacquelyn had her own style of clothing; it was sort of retro with a little kick. It worked great with her funky hair style. She is also dating the schools quarterback Brad. But they both loved writing and wanted to be journalist when they graduated college. They also loved the same foods and movies. “Uh hello” Jacquelyn snapped her fingers before crossing her arms in front of her. Melissa jumped. Jacquelyn just started at her. Melissa noticed the crossed arms. That meant she was upset with her. She gave her a sheepish look. “I have been calling your name for like five minutes”. She uncrossed her arms. “I wanted to know if you wanted to call it quits for the night and get a bit to eat.” Melissa's stomach rumbled. They both laughed. “I guess that’s a yes”. She begun gathering her thing and shoving them into her backpack. “Besides I don’t think I can read anymore about Urban Legends.” “Why you getting scared? “ Jacquelyn nudged her in the shoulder. “No. The words are starting to run together from reading so much.” The door slammed behind them.
