Would you buy a haunted house or a murder house? (<>..<>)

A couple of years ago the police were investigating this one house where a man supposedly had murdered his wife and had her bones in the back yard. The house was going up for auction and anyone could make a bid on it. I really wanted to bid $1 and pay what ever back taxes there were, I knew the amount of money couldn't be as much as a whole house would cost. So it was a really good deal. Unfortunately I was only 15 years old at the time, I couldn't drive to the auction, since I was under 18 I couldn't sign any sort of contract signing it over, so overall there were a lot of things in my way. I still feel I missed the chance of a lifetime LOL. No one bid on it at all, and it wasn't a really trashy house it was just a regular looking one. About a year later they man who supposedly murdered his wife payed the taxes and it was his again. I can't remember what the outcome of the whole wife murder ordeal was, this house wasn't even in the town I live in.

Now after I set a little back ground here is my question; Would you buy a haunted house or a house where someone was murdered in if you could get it at a cheaper price then a regular house?

I certainly would. I hope a similar oppertunity rises again so I could buy a house for a good price. Well I don't hope someone gets murdered, but murders do happen. I would also buy a house people say is haunted.

Date: 10/12/2002 5:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 49091    NEITHER! lol...well probley a murder house...because the story would be more interseting to tell if you lived in a murder house...lol
Date: 10/12/2002 5:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 60363    me too. lol.
Date: 10/12/2002 5:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    Well I probably wouldn't buy it if it were in a bad neighborhood, next to a crack house or something like that. I wouldn't want to be murdered in it by a drive by shooting.
Date: 10/12/2002 5:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 14780    well, depending on the feel of the house when I walked through the front door and around the house....so, i would say it would be a possibility....
Date: 10/12/2002 5:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    I would definitely consider it if it was really cheap. But I'm like Katsho, I'd have to walk around in it and see if I got any negative feelings.
Date: 10/12/2002 5:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 61677    Sure, haunted house don't bother me. If someone was murdered in it I would make sure to cleanse it first to make sure no negative energy is left in there. *Smeagol*
Date: 10/12/2002 5:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 53055    I would buy a haunted regardless if it's cheaper or not. I wanna experience paranormal activity. :p
Date: 10/12/2002 5:50:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    LOL yeah that would be an incentive for me too.
Date: 10/12/2002 6:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 48812    easy: both. A haunted murder house. LOL.....i love a challenge ^.^
Date: 10/12/2002 6:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 45517    That would be kind of cool but I would be to freaked out to go to sleep.
Date: 10/12/2002 6:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 48962    sure but i would also have to walk around and get a feeling from it.
Date: 10/12/2002 6:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 56200    I don't think I could live there. I don't know. If someone was murdered and we were the first people after that maybe. But if people already had said that it was haunted, I don't think so.
A friend of mine said that when she was little alot of times her mom took her when she would take people to see houses, she was an agent. My friend said sometimes she saw things, like past tenants. Not all were scary but this one time she saw blood all over the walls and carpet and stuff. That freaked me out when she told me. She used to see all sorts of things. She doesn't anymore. Snipit

Date: 10/12/2002 6:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 160    I wouldn't knowingly buy such a house. I want the chance to make my own happy memories in any place that I live and would not want to deal with peoples curiosity or speculation. So I would have to say no to that.
Date: 10/12/2002 6:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 57355    I would,at a low proce ,ghost/spirit keeping it safe from burglers, and I would sleep better knowing there is someone watch over( if the ghost liked me that is...).
: P

Date: 10/12/2002 7:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 1631    You bet! And then I'd rent the sucker out to strangers! Hehe...
Date: 10/12/2002 8:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 57355    Lol..!!!!
Date: 10/12/2002 8:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 53054    i would concider it, but hey i would have to walk into the house and if i didnt like what i felt in there no way would i buy it, even if it was the cheapest house in the block *hugs*
Date: 10/12/2002 8:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    I agree with Katsho. If the atmosphere was heavy and oppressive and I felt uneasy, I wouldn't want to live there. I've been in places like that before and the feeling wasn't pleasant. As for actual haunted occurances taking place, I find them to be more annoying than anything.
Date: 10/12/2002 9:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    I was thinking of that also Ali, like a tourist attraction would bring in even more money.
Date: 10/12/2002 9:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    LOL yeah Quetzalcoatl, what if the ghost didn't like you.
Date: 10/12/2002 9:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 19173    If the price was low enough I would, but I don't think I would live there, I would rent it out. I just hope the ghosts don't follow me to where I live though.
Date: 10/12/2002 10:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    I lived in a house where a guy was murdered! Lot's of crap happened!
Date: 10/13/2002 5:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 54963    I would definitly buy it! I have always wanted to live in a huanted house and beieve me when the chance is there I will take it. Do you know how much fun that could be - especially if you are into all the horror stories and you write them? The dead spirit could give me some great stories. And imagine living in it with like your best freind or boyfreind who is maybe into that stuff to. I would jump for joy.******Shootingstar*******
Date: 10/13/2002 5:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 57115    I would, but i would only go into the house at day and with a lot of people! =P -KnucklesEchidna AKA Dark Necromancer
Date: 10/13/2002 6:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 25828    if it were haunted i would buy it, if it were a murder house i don't think so, bad energy might be there. but a haunted house, or a house where a murder occured 20 years or more ago, i'd love to have 8-)
Date: 10/13/2002 8:44:00 AM  ( Admin-DNL )   I think I would be to chicken lol, but maybe I would buy it i'm not sure...
Date: 10/13/2002 8:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 50556    I really don't think I could manage to do that!! I'm too scared! But, maybe if it was cheap enough I would buy it and rent it out. LOL...LadyRaider15
Date: 10/13/2002 9:34:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    Interesting responses :)
Date: 10/13/2002 9:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 51952    sure. why not? nice house, cheap, posibly haunted? heaven if you ask me! ECCO
Date: 10/13/2002 3:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 56971    ih a guy killed the wife why is he free he should be in jail for life for killing some body. but yes i would buy a haunted house
Date: 10/13/2002 3:18:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    Actually I don't know where he is now? Perhaps they didn't have enough evidence to try him in a court. All I heard was he payed the taxes so he regained ownership of the house.
Date: 10/14/2002 9:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 55673    Depending on the house and the location I would want to live there. I would also have to know what the spirit was like, good or bad. I could deal with a good spirit but nothing harmful or evil.
Date: 10/14/2002 12:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 54111    I don't think I could. But come to think about it if its cheap enouch. You darn right I would buy a haunted house. BigDadi9
Date: 10/15/2002 7:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 26227    sure why not. If I like the house I buy it. IF it was cheap it make it that much better
Date: 10/16/2002 6:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 61353    yes i would , i would love it :)
Date: 10/16/2002 11:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 6731    I have to agree with a few people here, if I went through the house, and didn't get any bad feelings, and it was in a good neighborhood, then yes. Definately.
Date: 10/18/2002 10:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 54564    I would buy this house and live in it. It would be exciting to live in a haunted house.UFCBADBOY
Date: 10/26/2002 12:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 55499    Well I once lived in an apartment building that was a scene of a mess murder in apt 106 and i lived in apt 301. I scenced a precence everyday. I even cought a picture of two ghosts on 35 mm camera film and when i saw the proof i didn't believe it!

Good post!!!

Date: 1/7/2004 7:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    I think that I would buy the haunted house over the murder house. :) I think that I would be too uncomforable living in a house knowing that someone was murdered there.
