"Why hasn't he called?"
"Be patient, hun. It's only been a week since you sent the letter. He probably only got it yesterday. Plus, you have to realize that you haven't spoken in a while and he's probably still in shock that a babe like you remembers him."
"Amy, really,"
Elizabeth got out of her chair and walked over to the window and took a long sip of her coffee. "It took me four years, four whole years, to get up the courage to tell him what I knew starting the first day I met him."
"Well, ladeeda! I'm sure if he feels the same way, he went through the exact same thing. You know us girls have to take the reigns most of the time. Guys are too afraid of rejection."

"Ooh, do tell."
"You know. It's the same old thing. 'You're such a great girl. You need to get over this guy. C'mon, babe.' Babe. Babe! I hate that nickname. I absolutely hate it"
"Babe isn't a nickname. It's- well, I don't know exactly what it is. But it isn't a nickname."
"Fine, well, whatever it is. I still hate it."
Amy went back around behind Elizabeth and started rubbing her shoulders. "Well, come on, babe. We should get going if we're still planning on catching that movie."
"All right, but make sure the answering machine is on. I don't want to miss any calls."
Amy walked towards her bedroom and shouted behind her, "I wouldn't dream of letting that happen!" A sudden turn, "You've really got it bad for this boy, don't you?"
"I just might-"
