Sitting home today on the net, my son comes running in, "Mom! It's an emergency! Come quick!" I jumped up, asking, "What is it?" Running after him the whole time. "Reed is stuck in the hole!" We run faster. "Hole?". "The hole we dug in my area by the club house." As we approached the area in question, I seen the neighbor, Mr. Beau digging frantically. I ran faster. I got to the hole, Reed was covered, only his feet were hanging out. I tried digging the dirt from where I thought his face may be, to no avail, the more I dug, the more caved in. Mr. Beau grabbed his feet and gave several tugs as the young boy started to pull out. As soon as his face came clear of the hole, he let out a big breath, barely moving Mr. Beau and I helped him out of the hole. He was walking. Praise the Lord, the boy was walking, barely talking, but he was walking with me to the water hose to wash the dirt from his face, nose, mouth, eyes and ears. He was covered from head to toe with dirt and sand mixed. We walked up to the house where we got him some clean clothes and he took a shower. When he got out and was dressed, I looked him over again, still dirt was all in his eyes, ears, nose, and he was coughing up dirt. I cleaned his ears and eyes out again and off to his house to talk to his mom we went. She took it better than I thought she would. I was sure she would be very angry at us for allowing this to happen to her child. We took him to the emergency room where the doctors took a look at him. They praised his amateur rescuers for their fast thinking and acting. What could have happened has gone through our minds a thousand times. Mr. Beau is sitting with his wife and children thinking about what could have happened. I'm sitting here writing to you guys, listening to my children argue thinking of what could have happened. Reed is fine, he is home with his mom and sister thinking of what could have happened.
You all have a blessed night! And for Reed, I'll praise God for didn't happen. Hugs! Zeeboette
