Sorry if the title kinda scares or misleads anyone..hehe. I meant beating as in, martial arts.
Ok its like this. I am a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. While in class Thursday night, the instruction pulled out the sparring pads and announced we will be fighting in a moment. He told me and Amanda (an 18 year old girl in class) to help the little kids get dressed.
About 10 minutes later, he told me and her to get dressed. We did and sat down waiting for our turn. It came and we began fighting. Things were going evenly, but then she slipped and I found an opening and took absolute advantage of it. After the fight was over, the instructors son, who is a 3rd degree black belt, announced he wanted to fight me. We fought, with him having the advantage, but not by a great margin (or so I've been told)
Afterwards, I started to take the chest protector off and he said not to, he wanted me and Steve Hacker (hes only a black belt, no degrees or anything) to fight. At this point I became absolutly petrified because I had seen Mr. Hacker kick through solid concrete. Anyway he got dressed and we began.
After hitting at him for a moment, he attacked. Out of nowhere came a hook kick which connected to the side of my head (NOTE: A word about our pads. They are like big socks with foam in them. They protect the forearm, fist, and instep of the feet. The heels of the foot are not covered. We wear foam helmets and chest protectors)
Needless to say, it didn't go good for me. He round-housed me once so hard my neck snapped around and I hit face first into the punching bag. After 3 or 4 more hits, including an axe-kick to the side of my nose, the instructor said to stop because I could not properly defend against him just yet. Mr. Hacker hugged my neck afterwards and told me he didn't mean to hurt me if he did, which I replied he didn't (In truth, it hurt like h*ll, I just didn't wanna say it)
Ok to get to the discussion part, I have 2 questions.
#1: Does any martial artists have any sparring advice? (Rules: No punching to face, head, neck, or groin. No direct, deliberate kicking to face, no kicking to neck or groin, no below the belt shots, no kneeing)
#2: Upon hearing about this, my little brother (shouldn't say little, hes 6'1", 235 lbs) said he could easily whip "this little wimp" to which I replied by all means go for it. My bro is only 16 and I know if he tries fighting Mr. Hacker he is likely going to be seriously injured.
Anyone got any advice for either situation?
