FADING "I LOVE YOU'S" =Odd=

The first time you said you loved me, my heart jumped with joy.
I returned to you those feelings. True love of a girl and a boy.

Each time you said those words, I willingly said them back.
Much time passed when this went on. Our feelings never lacked.

I shared with you my deepest dreams, my fears, and my desires.
You told me yours, but little did I know they were lies to light my fires.

You fed me stories of our future together, but I was unaware
That you just said them to impress me while you started your affairs.

I knew in my gut the whole way through that something was definately wrong.
But you swore it would never happen to me because your love for me was strong.

I always told you I loved you, from the depths of my faithful heart.
But you only said it out of habit. You knew we were falling apart.

Was what you said to me in the beginning the starting of your lie?
Did you think I'd always be stupid and let you hang me out to dry?

I know it took me longer than my friends to find what you're really about.
But they let me grow and silenced themselves so that I could figure it out.

Each time from the first day you loved me, those words faded faster than ever.
You knew in your heart you would soon dump me while I thought it'd be forever.

The last time I heard you say you loved me, it sounded like more of a stutter.
I could tell you I loved you loudly. "You too," you ungratefully muttered.

But that is okay, I know who you are. You cheated on me, that's okay.
I'll be happy forever and ever. And you'll still be where you are today.
