Is the war on drugs really being won? How long has there been a war on drugs? It was announced by Richard Nixon in 1971, but actually goes back further than that.As long as there is a demand for drugs there will be a market for them which means lots of money, some drugs being worth more than some precious metals. If these were sold legally it would be another way for the government to make money through taxes. But then again the government is in on the selling drugs anyway, this has been known since the Viet Nam conflict. Remember Oliver North? the C.I.A. was involved in this , drugs for money ,for guns, for a war effort in south america. Strange world isn't it? Do you think that if the U.S. would legalize drugs, putting an age limit as to when you could purchase them at a pharmacy instead of a street corner someplace that this would be a good thing? A lot of people that are in jail now are there on drug related offenses. Is the war on drugs really being won? and how can the government with a clear conscious put people in jail for drug crimes, when the government itself is involved in trafficing narcotics? If drugs were legal it may prevent a lot of the problems that society is now facing. dosen't Denmark have drugs that are legal? what kind of problems do they have? I don't remember hearing that they have any major problems, so should drugs be legal here in the U.S.? What do you think? I think the goverment has known all along that we would never win any kind of war on drugs, it's all just another scam. For what purpose I do not know. How it changed my life:it hasn't just courious what other people thought, but then again my tax money is going to support alot of people that are in jail for drug crimes.
