Cblossom, I was offended to, that's why I chose not to say anything to them b/c I was hurt. Sure we don't know what it was like in "the olden days." But why are we living in the past? Yes, there are some rude people here. But that's what we must come over. There are some WONDERFUL "newbies" here. We can't expect EVERYONE to be "perfect." It's a wonderful thought, but simply not realistic. I'm not directing this toward all of the "old-schoolers," but I think that some of you do need to give us a chance. Accept us for our minds and spirit, not our ID numbers. =Odd=  |

CBlossom, I apologize for hurting you. I guess I didn't really think out my response. I have lots of "newer" member friends, and I still love USM. But it is true that it used to be quite a different place, which I also enjoyed a lot. I often feel lost around here because I don't see my older friends as much. I love everyone here dearly. I don't necessarily wish it was back to 'olden days' as the author of the post you're referring to said, but I do agree with him that it was very different, and I'm somewhat nostagic about it. Again, I apologize, I'm very very very sorry to have offended you and others.  I hope you can forgive me! BTW..before I go..my feelings on this subject are mostly from the chat and social aspect of USM...not so much the stories and comments or quality of same. I know you have touched many people, and I don't feel that new member are intruding at all. This site was a gift to all of us, and its ever changing and ever growing. I guess I failed to accept that in a positive way. All right Aphy shut up!! Thanks for hearing me out.  |

When I read that post, I debated about whether or not it would be a good idea to leave a comment, but in the end I did because I don't feel that mean posts like that should go un detected. It's really hurtful that they said things like that and the way they were saying it was as if they owned USM. It's really wrong. And I couldn't help laughing when they were talking about how USM 'used' to be so friendly, when infact they were posting something so mean. silver...I just had to click it and once I read it, I had to say something. it was hurtful, intended or not. I am basically not a "newby" but still....I feel for those who come and think that USM is full of a bunch of snobs and they are not welcomed to join It does, pixie, it does make me cry *runs out of room really sobbing now* why cant we just all get along?????? I remember the times of which my friend Tyll speaks, but I don't agree with the last half of what he said...human nature corrupting everything??? No way! I'm just big on remembering the past. Change is good, and I have fond memories, and usm has a great future ahead. Ok, its late, my contacts are getting bleary, I'm going to turn in before i say anything stupid(er). I think this is still a great site, people who new can still contribute just as much or more as the old. It is more crowded, and it has changed, not all for good but not all for bad. The admin try to do everything in their power to make everyone happy and to make this a pleasant site, but humans aren't easily pleased,especially in large groups. But you can't deny people to a place based on the morals that this site holds. I do feel it's wrong for people to say those things, however I find myself missing the way things used to be, not as a prejudice but just because we hold some things dearer, or truer as we remember them. And it's true that newer people can't understand it all, even if they try, only because they weren't around to know. It's nothing against them by any means, just a fact that should be pointed out. I also agree with Aphrodite, but STOP. Don't create a fault line in usm to seperate the newer members and older ones, its what we contribute,not when we come, we prove our worthiness. NO ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER HERE, and that goes for EVERYONE, I don't care what you say, but to hold a prejudice is bad, and to learn a prejudice from that one is just as bad. I do hope the problem stops though. |

LOL...I had more fun reading yours and pixies comments back and forth that I had forgot about the main post..LOL...awww blossom sis, you and I and jung palled up right off the bat when we first got here together, we connected like nobodies business, remember that:-)...well not a soul could take that feeling away from us. It belongs to us, that connection we had made. I hold that dear in my heart. Now why do I say that. Becuase no matter how this site is and no matter what is added, it does not count, what counts is the fun we have had together and the laughes and the tears we have shared with one another..The great phone calls we have had, the awesome talks that was have had. Do you have to be an older memver for that??No way, you just have to have a heart and one that cares..We did that, and we still do. So my point is this, for those that don't have that then or now, I feel for them, as it is here..you have to seek it out, like we did:-)...I would never trade knowing you for the world, you are alway uplifting, even when your down in emotions, you are always there to pick another up when they are down. blossom sis..take your arms and wrap them around you right now, you know what that is??That is me here giving you a big sis hug of I love you for who you are, no matter if we are new or old...I love ya sis blossom...I always have and always will!!!!You know something I have met some great awesome people here on this site, they are older members and newer members, and I just love them, they have touched my heart in so many ways. those that have been here for awhile are having to adjust to new ideas and concepts for improvement...these improvements are not easy for the admins to make, they take time, and they do it for us...OMG if we only knew how much time it takes to actually create one lil thing we would be blown away..LOL..I feel for this person who wrote that post you are talking about, as I think that they are having a hard time with progression, but maybe we can help them to understand progression...we have to work together with that. Sure it might get confusing to some at first, but with work and help we can get thru that:-) I loved this post you wrote as it gave me a chance to say things to you that I feel and to others that are needing some extra words of incouragement. Cblossom I did not read the post and I don't really think that I want to......however there was a post done back a few months ago where someone stated that we needed to respect the Usm elders. Something was stated look at the Id numbers that shows thier stay and they deserve respect for the time being here. I was offended by that because, I give respect where respect is earned. If you are respectful to me I am respectful back. When you start to get mean and snappy, I can do that too. I came on this past October, 2000,and have no idea what the'old days' refer to. If it means fewer people, that is the problem with success, people see something good and want to be part of it.If I was in Admn. and did not see growth in my investment, I would be concerned. Size is a problem but more of a problem, to me, is behavior of all those here that want to disrupt the system by what they say or verbal behavior. Irresponsible acts worry be a lot more than size, age, educational level, etc.  |

Mason...my personal opinion over hearing the "I cant find my friends, noone reads my stories anymore, lalalala is that if you want to be noticed, say something that peeps (all of them, or most of them) want to hear. I think it is quite possible for peeps to stand out in the masses if they have a quality that few possess. there are many that stand out to me, due either to their wonderful story telling, their unbelievable kindness, and yes even their notority (sp) One doesnt have to get "lost" in the swoad that to me is fear yep...*huGz* I like to be the center of attention as much as anyone else, probably more..yet I can and do take the backseat the view can be beautiful from back there as well*huGz* |

I really like MANY of the "newer" people here... and to be honest most replies seem to come from people with higher numbers, which makes me wonder if the "older" members just got bored or what....WOW... I just glanced at the numbers of people on this post... maybe I am starting to become one of the "older" members... ANYWAYS, I will quit rambling now... Know what post your talking about Cblossom and I decided not to answer simply because I decided to to give the individual the "benefit of the doubt" that it was either a bad day or that they, like so many, don't really care that much for change. What ever it is, change is change and it is the one thing that will always remain "constant." I've been here on this site a year, and if I'm to be regarded as the only of the "oldies" - I'll accept it knowing I stood the test of time and did so with flying colors. This site has changed yes, and each day it seems to get better and better but like everything else, one has to learn to take the good along with the bad - you have, you've maintained, so whatever you do, see such "posts" for what they are, here today and gone tomorrow - it's not worth getting upset over any of them - their just opinions and nothing else. Sorry for being so blunt, but I just hate seeing you get upset for something that will always fade in time. Antona  |

I know the posts fade away A, but then they are just replaced with more negativity and hurtful remarks I just think that when I see a post that is hurtful, maybe it is time for a rebuttle at some point, someone needs to stand up and say "hey no!!! we wont go!!!" LOL I just think that we must say, that enough is enough and nothing stays the same, so embrace it instead of saying "ugly" before really looking into it I am not upset.....LOL, well I was a little but not for me alone, for I now rank a inbetweenieLOL but that still doesnt make me better for the time spent here, only the time spent here doing something positive counts as "time served" and time served "well" |

I was being very pesimistic when i wrote that and put some pretty unpleasnt words in it. but i never targeted any one person or group of people. Just human nature itself.
